Having spent considerable time on the Sunshine Coast, my goal was to design a space that felt like home—one where neighbours, travelers, and friends could come together as a community. Inspired by the industrial revolution, the challenge was to strike a balance between coastal chic and raw, industrial elements, which evolved into the concept of a deconstructed barn. On one side, the feeling of an original brick wall backdrop was created, while partial panelled walls and ceilings opened up, drawing the eye through the space and inviting exploration.

The opposite wall became a canvas, showcasing the work of a local graffiti artist commissioned for the project. Materials like concrete, reclaimed wood, white oak, blackened steel, and bold splashes of colour further reinforce the idea of gathering—a space where everyone is welcome to connect and enjoy.
